So, I went to the NASCAR qualifying round last Friday (2/27/09) with my son Owain. He’s five and it’s the first time I’ve taken him to a race. Normally, my dad will fly down from Seattle and we’ll to the redneck thing one time a year. I’m a closet NASCAR fan in case you’re wondering. My son loved it! We had a great time at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It’s insane to think that 300,000 people came to Las Vegas this past weekend just for a race. Football is supposedly our most popular sport, but they don’t get even close to that in their stadiums. We took some pictures while we were there. I learned a few things by just observing when it came to leadership and children’s ministry, but I’ll share those another time. If you have never been to a NASCAR event–it’s worth going at least once.
